Belinda initiated the process of launching the Stagefright group and has since this time been pro-active in the group development. Belinda is the current Chairperson of the group and is a regular director for the group.
She first performed on the stage as a teenager in a group in Derbyshire.
She moved to Mansfield in 1987 for her career and has remained here ever since. She hadn't been part of a theatre group for many years until she saw an advert in the local press asking for new members to join the Palace Community Theatre. She Joined the Community Theatre group and has been many of their productions, 'The Caucasian chalk circle', 'Beaux Strategem', 'Under Milk Wood' and 'Brassed off' [Twice], 'Not Much Matches Mansfield' and most recently in 2015 in 'Cider with Rosie'.
Suzanne first became involved in drama when training to be a teacher in the 1970s. Then came 3 children, established her own nursery school and 5 grandchildren. A chance workshop 6 years ago led to a part in her first Community Theatre production, "A Site for Sore Eyes" at the Palace Theatre, Mansfield. From that point she was hooked, appearing in Caucasian Chalk Circle as the Singer, Beaux Stratagem and Brassed Off. It seemed a long time between productions, so with a group of friends made in community theatre she was one of the first to sign up for Stagefright theatre group. She has appeared in all their productions to date.
She loves travelling, especially to South America, where she had a close encounter with a tarantula in the rain forest. Currently she is writing a play about a group of friends in their vintage years as good parts for that age group are few - something Helen Mirren agrees with!
Jenny has always been interested in drama, but apart from participating in some plays at school never had the opportunity. Until that is, she spotting an advert calling all would be actors for the community theatre in 2006. Since that she has taken part in community theatre productions at the Palace Theatre. Jenny is a founder member of Stagefright. 'We have a fabulous time putting on plays and having a good mix of ages we all bring different views and ideas to our group.' Jenny has been in nearly all the productions for Stagefright.
Alan had his acting debut in a non speaking role in 'The Haunted Cabin'. He has since taken speaking roles in Stagefright productions.
He has also been a member of the Community Theatre.
Alan has supported the group in a non-acting capacity throughout its inception helping with scenery production and production of posters.
Alan's other hobbies include Photograhy and 'Psyhcic Entertainment'.
Lighting and Sound
As you sit watching a performance - look behind and through that little area of glass. If you are lucky you may catch a glimpse of our elusive sound and lighting guy - Andy.
